HB stated that the Show income for 2004 should be examined, as we should raise more money from the charity stalls. Our sponsorship for 2003 was very healthy but this is not assured for 2004. It was suggested that Inchcape be given the opportunity to gain publicity from their association with the Show by inviting them to the Party in January to present prizes or something, and gain press coverage for this event when news is usually quiet.
Advertising rates to be examined for 2004.
Wine and flowers were purchased for our auditors.
Chairman’s 2003 has been a successful year. The Party went well after some problems in the run-up, but all was resolved with an extra piano player and piano installed and the guests none the wiser. Farnham Operatic Society went down well. There were some problems with the usual Guide helpers, but Carol Warnock rallied round at the last minute and found alternative helpers for us. Start and finish times for the Party have been revised to avoid congestion at the Hall. The 2003 Show was great, with good weather, and a new website which produced good contacts (in fact through it we have applications for 2004 already.) There is now an excellent photographic record of the say on the website. More help is required for the running of the Show, although the setting up went well this year.
Susan Thompson was lost a committee member this year, and has been missed as she ran the Dog Show and advertising for 4-5 years. Committee members were asked to think hard of people who might be approached to come on to the committee to help. Jill Holliday will be joining the Committee at the next meeting.
Show Date for 2004 - confirmed for Saturday 17 July 2004, with the marquee and band booked.
Election of Rita Batchelor proposed the re-election of existing committee
Officers: en bloc, and this was seconded by Gill Keighley.
